No one cares about Eastern Turkistan

The fact that Hong Kong is discussed throughout this article and Xinjiang is only mentioned in passing (and the Uighur people are not mentioned at all) says it all. 

By any measure what China is doing in Xinjiang is worse than what it is doing in Hong Kong, which admittedly is also awful. But western journalist identify with Hong Kongers in a way they don’t identify with the Uighur, Kazakhs and other Turkic minorities in Western China.
