I don't understand why Russia would think this is likely to boost its image as anything but a dysfunctional, sometimes malevolent, state. I mean, I guess if their blind moon shot works, that would be a feather in their cap, but anything that goes wrong with it is going to be Exhibit Q of why Russia is a shit country pretending to be a world power.
