I don't get why the police chief thinks the curfew makes the shooting the protester's fault. The shooter, Kyle Rittenhouse, was out after curfew too. So why didn't the police arrest him for violating curfew instead of giving him a drink of water that night? The fact that there was a curfew is more damning of the police, not less. It is pretty clear they were only enforcing the curfew against unarmed dark skinned people, and not a clearly armed white guy. If they had just enforced it on the white guy, the double murder never would have happened.
