Death on a Battlefield

Leaders of countries used to die on the battlefield all the time. But now it's really rare. Before yesterday, when was the last time that a sitting head of state died on a battlefield?

...okay thinking about this some more, I guess you could argue Muammar Qaddafi's death counts.
