i got a couple more birthday packages today. among them was a copy of occidentalism, a book i have been wanting to get my hands on since i read the review several months ago. if i ever actually get around to reading it, i will probably babble about it here.
i haven't had much time to read lately. generally, the reading time slot competes directly with the study arabic time slot on the upyernoz fall schedule. and lately arabic has been winning the war for my attention. but with a new stack of books beckoning me, maybe the neglect pendulum will swing the other way soon.
actually, this week i seem to have neglected both. maybe i'll blame atrios, though my volume over there doesn't really lend much support to this theory. so instead i blame society
