i'm going to be at the polls most of the day tomorrow, so this will probably be my last post before we know the outcome of the election--or at least before the first round of litigation. i went through my third round of training tonight. the funny thing about listening to these "election law experts" is just how there really are no election law experts. elections just don't happen that often, plus election laws have been overhauled (in a half-assed fashion) on both the state and federal level since the last major vote. some people may have read the rules more than some others, but the bottom line is no one really knows how provisional ballots will be counted tomorrow. or, for that matter, how a lot of things that could go wrong will ultimately be resolved.
meanwhile my faith in kerry's ability to win is rising, even as my confidence that there won't be any florida-style election chaos is falling. the one unambiguous silver lining is that, no matter what happens, this campaign will finally be over tomorrow. i am really really sick of this election. if nothing else, it will be nice to finally have it over.
oh, and just to clear the record, the october surprise rumor i floated last week is officially wrong. thanks to all the other bloggers who blindly echoed my rumormongering. i appreciate the the support even though it turned out to be unfounded.
see you on the other side...
