today is my favorite crazy ruler of turkmenistan's birthday. he's 65, an age we associate with retirement here in the u.s. unfortunately for the turkmen people, not so in turkmenistan (at least not when it comes to god's prophet on earth).
like with all things central asian, nathan has a great retrospective of the birthday boy.
