so the british navy is now recruiting gays. apparently, they're no problem for the australian military either. and a study of the israeli military after it lifted its ban on gays concluded: "we were notable to find any data suggesting that Israel's decision to lift its gay ban undermined operational effectiveness, combat readiness, unit cohesion,or morale."
it's interesting because britain, australia and israel are among the most supportive of the bush administration's decision to invade iraq. in some right-wing circles, those countries constitute "the good guys" on the international scene. among those with a simplified good-guys/bad-guys view of the world (which, by no means, is everyone who supports the iraq war), i wonder how they handle something like this.
