in case you haven't noticed yet, billmon is back to writing prose again. the whiskey bar was once one of my favorites, mostly because of billmon's amazing writing. then it closed, then re-opened, then just turned into a site filled with juxtaposed quotes and photoshopped images. i would still visit and chuckle now and then. but reading his site was more like reading a political cartoon than the long thoughtful essays i once expected from him.
but anyway, now he's back. billmon's own explanation for the evolution of his site over the past year is here. his first substantive essay in this new era is here and it really should not be missed.
