dahr jamail

independent journalist dahr jamail is returning to iraq to resume his dispatches. i was a fan of his site before, but only got around to linking to it in mid-february--just after his last post before he went on a hiatus. after waiting for two months with no updates, i took him off the blogroll a few weeks ago.

so now it looks like he will start posting again (in fact, he already has). that also means i gotta remember to put jamail's dispatches back on the blogroll. if the past is any guide, it will take me a little while. probably by the time i finally get around to it he will stop posting again. but in the meantime, i recommend clicking on the above link and paying his site a visit. as an independent (non-embedded) journalist, he is immune to the military censorship imposed on other journalists. considering how little mainstream american sources are reporting on operation matador right now, his contribution will be especially valuable. (and for aggregated translations of news reports from european and arab sources, i recommend nur al-cubicle)

(thanks to richard cranium for noticing jamail's return)
