i have no idea if this is true or not, but juan cole thinks that the letter between zawahiri and al-qaeda in iraq that the u.s. claimed it intercepted is probably a forgery.
interestingly enough, al-qaeda is also calling the letter a fake. as far as i can tell they haven't done that before when other alleged al-qaeda communications were released to the public.
