there's something a little creepy about the new york times today. first, they have this big article about how the mukhabarat (secret police) operates in the arab world, with the article focusing particularly on jordan. then you have this other article about a videotaped confession released by the jordanian government of an alleged suicide bomber. it's hard not to read the two articles together without wondering what exactly is the story behind that video.
