i'm not really into awards. both online and off, at best i ignore them. so this time each year when left blogistan goes abuzz over the koufax awards you usually won't find any mention of them or any other of the numerous blog awards here. i don't participate at all, i don't nominate people or vote for anyone. i dunno, i guess it's the one really anti-social characteristic i try to nurture in the service of a useless and ultimately hopeless cause
this weekend horatio nominated this site in the category of "Most deserving of wider recognition." despite highfalutin disdain for awards in general, i was really flattered to be nominated. in fact, i was surprised by how happy it made me when horatio mentioned it in the comments.
so i've mulled it over and i've decided not to change my usual curmudgeonly anti-award stance. so if anyone is considering nominating me for anything, i'm flattered, i don't deserve it, and you probably shouldn't waste your nomination on me. pick someone who really wants it.
