i just saw at eschaton that octavia butler died. i was a huge fan of her work. i guess i still am, though it's been a while since she came out with something new. everytime i go by a bookstore my eyes wander over to see if she has a new book out yet. i guess that's the end of that.
i met her once. at a book signing in chicago. i was with a friend who had written his masters thesis about octavia butler's work. he gave her a copy when he reached the head of the line.
i'm not sure where that story was supposed to go. i got nothing else. i'm just sorry to see her go.
