it is really remarkable to watch senators express outrage at the white house's actions and demand an investigation of their claims that they can break the law, and then immediately crumble as soon as the white house calls. glenn says he's not surprised, but no matter how often i see politicians reverse course so dramatically, it's hard for me not to be a little shocked by the sheer obviousness of it all.
i wonder how toxic bush will have to get in his poll numbers before senators stop taking his phone calls.
