yesterday atrios posted about how gwen ifill got it all wrong when she recounted a certain moment from the edwards-cheney vice presidential debates on this weeks edition of wait wait--don't tell me!. atrios ends the post with "Over to you, Adam..." (link in original)
the adam he was referring to is adam felber, who regularly participates on "wait wait..." and who is also a blogger.
anyway, adam's response is up, and it's actually quite good. it gives a good description of how narratives can take hold and become reality for the wonky class. even when that narrative conflicts with their own personal experience, the narrative still wins. nothing can withstand its power (except maybe superman)
full disclosure: i am a fan of "wait wait--don't tell me!" and subscribe to their weekly podcast. (you should too! it's great fun, and makes that monday morning train ride a little less depressing) the writers definitely read blogs (they mentioned fellow liberal coalition comrade steve bates by name a couple of weeks ago), i wouldn't be surprised if they bring up atrios' post somewhere down the line.
