embassy attack as seen from crazyland

it's been fascinating to watching the right blogistan's posts about the foiled attack on the american embassy in syria.

i mean, it was the syrians who foiled the attack. one syrian officer even died to stop it. it's strange to watch some of the very people who have been clamoring for an attack on syria to not notice that the syrian government was trying to defend u.s. soil against a terrorist attack.

instead, some of the righties are focusing their attention on the fact that the reuters lead identified the attackers as "Four gunmen shouting religious slogans..." rather than their preferred wording: "four crazy mohammedan islamo-fascist heathen non-christian savages, who, by the way, are MOOSLIM and not like normal people, shouted 'allahu akbar', which means 'i drink the blood of christian babies' while attempting to commit a heinous crime against the united states and while being adherents to the satanic islamic faith..."

oh, and i'll be at the philadelphia drinking liberally tonight. after reading all those rightwing blogs, i think i need a drink. it's at tangier, 18th and lombard, 6 p.m. until after that. see you there!
