proof that the NY Sun editors live on another planet

right here.

my favorite part is this bit:
Were Mr. Cheney in the race, it's hard to imagine that the president's approval ratings would not be five or 10 points higher.
yes, it's hard to imagine that cheney, who has an 18 percent favorability rating, not being the best republican presidential candidate ever. to put that number in context, it's almost the same percentage of people who believe that the world trade center towers were brought down by secretly planted explosives and not airplanes (16% of the public). if the sun were correct about the 5 to 10% jump in president bush's approval ratings, that would mean that a third to almost two thirds of cheney fans don't approve of president bush right now.

yes, there's no greater hope for the republican party than one of the least popular vice presidents in modern history.

and check out the reader comments at the bottom of the sun editorial. it at least demonstrates that not all sun readers are completely detached from reality.
