it's really remarkable how the quagmire argument has completely switched sides in the iraq war debate. back before the war began one of the major anti-war arguments is that if we invade, we'll get stuck there. it looks like those dirty hippies were right too, because now even the president is claiming that we simply can't leave iraq.
"we won't be able to leave!" has turned into "we can't leave!" aside from the tense, the only difference between the two is who's saying it.
[yeah, i know i've basically written this post before. so sue me. i still think it's remarkable. if i do this blogging thing long enough, i will eventually completely run out of new to stuff to write. when that happens, i guess i could quit. but instead, i'll probably just loop back to june 2003 and repost everything i've written one post at a time. so when you see this question posing as a new post, you'll know the well is dry.]
