a new dawn will come

people of crawford, texas, don't feel bad. right now tourism may be tied to bush's popularity ratings, but don't discount the future waves of ironic tourists.

the only thing that's holding them back now is that with bush in office he's more terrible than funny. once he's not blocking meaningful health care, appointing reactionary judges, undermining environmental restrictions, authorizing torture and funneling our tax dollars to his cronies anymore his sheer ineptitude is gonna start attracting people with a wacky sense of humor. trust me, come february 2009, there will be plenty of people stopping in crawford, dying for that official crawford editions of "my pet goat", or maybe just some tacky paperweight.

this isn't a slump, it's a lull. the bush term is almost over. can the roadside america entry for crawford be far behind?
