i used to do more film reviews here, but i haven't written about movies here in quite a while. i've almost written about there will be blood several times, but never quite followed through. now it's two weeks post-viewing and i guess the time has simply passed.
but it hasn't passed for this is england; we just saw it last night.
so thumbs up! even if you're not particularly interested in the english skinhead movement in the 1980s, it's well worth seeing for the depth of the characters. more importantly, the story of how the main character is drawn into the movement is really believable and feels natural even though if i were to list the reasons why they'd seem trite and predictable.
