israel bombed islamic university in gaza yesterday. although israel has been claiming to avoid civilian targets, it seems to be justifying the strike on the university because a bunch of hamas leaders are alumni and because a lot of students at the university support hamas.
by that logic yale university is now a military target.
UPDATE: an IDF spokesperson says that the university "was used for the development of rockets, explosives and electronic devices used by militants and was also a meeting point for Hamas militants and a weapons cache."
so i guess yale is only a military target if members of its faculty get grants from the pentagon.
