"syrian waters"

given that syria claims that all of hatay province is syrian territory (even though the region is governed by turkey and is within the turkish borders recognized by the rest of the world), it doesn't tell us all that much when syria claims the turkish plane it shot down off the coast of hatay was within syrian airspace. they think all of hatay is syrian airspace! they could be telling the truth (at least the truth as they see it) and we still wouldn't know whether the plane had crossed the line that the rest of us think is the turkish/syrian border.
