This story is just another example of the cost of not apologizing for the 2010 Gaza flotilla incident. I mean, how stupid could Israel be? Its soldiers killed 8 citizens of its only real friend in the neighborhood. It was even stupider now that we know that Turkey had been entrusted with information about Israel's espionage efforts in Iran.
Maybe Erdogan would have blown the spies cover anyway. But from the Israeli perspective, was there any point at all to not saying they were sorry? Plus, Israel eventually did apologize, but only after being dragged into it by President Obama, three years after the fact, after relations with Turkey hit rock-bottom and, as we now know, Israel lost its spy network in Iran.
