The most hilarious thing about all this is that, even if you were not aware that the Syrian National Coalition flag is a revival of a flag that was used in the mid-twentieth century, the conspiracy theory proponents somehow thought that a secret cabal of foreign evildoers plotted the Arab Spring a decade before and then planted a hint of what they were doing for no apparent reason in the background of a scene of a popular American cartoon TV sitcom. Isn't it a lot more likely that whoever designed the Syrian Rebels' flag was a Simpsons fan?
