Yeah, I know the ISIS is awful. And considering that some of the formative steps in the creation of that group were in direct reaction to the American invasion and occupation of Iraq, this is partially "our fault." But that doesn't mean it is our fight.
Plenty of terrible things happen in the world. Because the U.S. has such far-reaching influence, most of them are at least partially our fault. We can't police the world. And frankly, usually when we try to it just makes things worse. Also, we should end the stupid assumption that any fundamentalist Muslim group is on the same team as the people who attacked the U.S. on 9/11 and thus demands an immediate American military response. These groups are not all the same. Some are focused on striking the West, but most are more concerned with local issues.
So I'm glad the Administration rebuffed. I am hoping they continue to rebuff, although I am not sure they will.
