I don't think I have given the 1989 American invasion of Panama much thought since it happened. At least not until I listened to Act One of this week's This American Life (yes, I know it is a repeat from 2003. But I don't remember hearing it before.)
Was that the stupidest war this country has ever launched, or what? Seriously, American forces invaded and toppled a foreign government because the leader was thought to have connections with the drug trade?!?!?
