People don't pay much attention to Yemen, but there seems to be exactly zero good reasons for the U.S. to be involved there.
The best rationalization I can come up with is we supported the Saudis to buy them off so they wouldn't get to upset when the U.S. entered into a nuclear deal with Iran. If that is really why, it didn't work at all.
