Trump says something stupid, and everyone piles on and condemns his stupidity. As long as he keeps shooting himself in the foot, maybe no one will notice that Trump has very few concrete policy proposals and is largely ignorant about many of the issues a president would have to face.
I really would prefer that elections were debates over policies, but how else can a campaign run by a guy with so little policy go?
