What exactly is the point?

I would be surprised if the staffers of all the bottom-tier candidates aren't at least mumbling about this.

Running for President sucks. I don't understand at all why someone would do it when they have no realistic chance of winning.

(Don't give me that argument about how they are "running for a cabinet appointment." That might make sense if the field was much smaller. There aren't enough cabinet positions for this massive group. The chances that any future Democrat will pick someone who couldn't garner 1% in the polls to a cabinet post are pretty low. And that's putting aside the fact that most cabinets are not filled with people the president defeated in the primary (how many cabinet positions did Trump fill with his primary opponents?))
