Criticism of Obama by presidential candidates from his own party is only remarkable if you think of a party as a personality cult. Of course a political party should openly talk about the mistakes of its former leaders. That's what political parties, and its candidates should be doing.
Politics is supposed to be about ideas and policy. It's not about teams and loyalty. Just because the Republican Party has become little more than the cult of Trump doesn't mean anyone should assume the Democratic Party has been warped in the same way.
