I understand what things inevitably change. And I understand that when you run a city that used to be part of the silk road and you discover that most of the ancient city is underneath what is now the bazaar, you would want to have it excavated (both to find out more about the city's past and maybe also to boost (i.e. put into existence) tourism. But It is so bizarre to not have the main bazaar here in Taraz. That place was so central to our experience in this country in 2009-2010.
