The funny thing is that it is pretty clear that Trump is not a patriot. He doesn't give a shit about the United States or its democratic values. He seems more in common with foreign autocrats like Jong-Un, MBS, Putin, SISI, or Bolsonaro, than he does with Americans in the opposing party. His business is a world-spanning organization, with a presence across the world and actively courts foreigners for business opportunities.
Sure, there are different kinds of "globalists" and Trump is definitely not the borderless travel/no-barriers to trade kind of globalist. But that's not the only flavor of globalism.
...and yeah, I know that in white nationalist circles "globalist" is often a dog whistle for "Jew". My point is, dog whistle aside, Trump is part of the club of international cross-border businesspeople, and not people who identify strongly with and prioritize the interests of their own country.
