The executive will be all-powerful until suddenly it is not

The silver lining to the Trump Administration's scheme to pack the courts with Judges who believe in a "unitary executive" (that is a President who has few real checks on his/her power from the other branches of government) is that those judges are also partisan hacks who will doubtlessly scale back their expansive view of presidential authority and start finding checks as soon as someone with a "D" after their name is living in the White House.
