"Pandemic"

As I said back in February, maybe a "pandemic" is a social phenomenon as much as an epidemiological one. To the extent a "pandemic" is when both a disease is spreading across the world and when society as a whole initiates serious changes in behavior to try to mitigate the spread or effects of the disease, then Biden is right. That kind of pandemic is effectively over.

But that's just playing with definitions. COVID is still killing a lot of people. We've just gotten used to it, I guess. That seems to be how the flu pandemic ended 100 years ago.
