it's true that republicans generally don't hate their losers. but i expect they will make an exception for mittens. when obama is reelected the right will need to tell a story about how they blew it with 8% unemployment against a muslim communist from kenya. they never liked romney anyway and already spent months elevating every other lunatic they could find into a front runner to avoid giving him the nomination. when the knives come out, mitt romney will be the obvious fall guy.
