Here's a way out of the current impasse: Harry Reid and the President should capitulate and promise to immediately repeal ObamaCare and replace it with IssaCare in exchange for an end to the shutdown and the abolition of the debt ceiling. The Republicans could claim victory for doing what everyone said was impossible to do, the teatards could high-five each other for stopping "government takeover of health care," progressives would be happy with a health care law that is more generous than the ACA, members of the general public who remain suspicious of "ObamaCare" could enjoy expanded health coverage without fear of death panels, and the President and Senate Majority Leader would be able to prove, once and for all, that their opposition is mind-bogglingly stupid.
Everybody wins.
