Whenever protests break out in Iran, I hate watching conservatives, who don't seem to give a shit about the Iranian people in the years since the last anti-government protest, suddenly line up and demand everyone support the protesters. Fuck you guys and your stupid band wagon jumping. If you really gave a shit about the Iranian people, you would not support banning them from the U.S.
The irony is that these protests were triggered because Trump Administration has kept up sanctions against Iran notwithstanding the nuclear deal. If you want to give the protesters what they want, you would lift sanctions and let the Iranian economy grow. Trump may tweet in support of the protesters, but he does not share their goals. He wants them to keep protesting, to threaten the survival of the Iranian government (or make it seem threatened enough for the inevitable crackdown, which would give the U.S. an excuse to impose more penalties on the country). The Trump administration is not on the protesters' side. It is trying to use them for their own political ends.
