Removing the president through the Twenty-Fifth Amendment is almost impossibly difficult. And yet, quite a few people who know Trump and have tried to work with him have thought that might be the way to go.
ADDENDUM: or maybe not such good evidence. The NYT is getting slagged for how badly their story is sourced. Many are guessing this was an intentional leak to get the President to fire Rosenstein. I have no idea if it is, but the 3rd hand anonymous sourcing does make the central claim pretty weak.
