It is no mystery why Donald Trump is so unpopular. Just about everything he does is broadly unpopular with the public. Most Americans don't want a wall, are against the Muslim ban, don't want to separate kids from their families at the border, are not receptive to his attacks against Mueller or the FBI, hate his tax bill, want to keep DACA, don't want to repeal ObamaCare, wanted to stay in the Iran nuclear deal, oppose Trump's tariffs, were against moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, don't like his Supreme Court pick, et cetera, et cetera.
There are a lot of really odd things about Trump. But one of the weirdest is how a guy whose only real interest seems to be his popularity only does really unpopular things. You'd think an insecure guy like our president would be one of those poll watchers, whose policies change with the shifting political winds. But that is not how this administration has governed at all. Despite Donald's deep need to be adored, he keeps making really unpopular choices.
