I don't see any point in posting some half-baked idea about the redacted Mueller Report (i.e. Mueller Lite, as opposed to Mueller Genuine Draft) when everyone else in the universe is already doing that stuff. But is worth stepping back to reflect how the laws have changed in this country, even if the wordings of statutes that were passed by Congress have not. At this point:
- Lying to Congress is legal. (It might even get you a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court!)
- The executive branch is allowed to ignore the law.
- The criminal statute prohibiting obstruction of justice does not apply if the person doing the obstruction sincerely believes he should not be investigated.
- Congress' power to oversee the executive branch only exists if the executive branch wants to be overseen.
- The House cannot initiate impeachment proceedings, even when the executive branch if ignoring the law, unless the opposition party has a super-majority in the Senate.
