The thing is, as Corona Czar, all Mike Pence has to do is make a public show of taking the pandemic threat really seriously, while appointing a bunch of actual experts to do the real work. It is not much work, but it does require rearranging his schedule a bit to signal seriousness and cancel a couple of fundraisers. But Pence is not even smart enough to do that.
