I'm not defending the 1/6 insurgents in any way, but at least their attempt to storm the capital had some semblance of a point: they were trying to block the certification of the 2020 election so Trump could remain President. It was a dumb plan, a destructive plan, and an un-American plan. But it was a plan.

President da Silva was out of town (also he's already President), Congress and the Supreme Court were not in session, very few government employees were even working in the capital because it is Sunday. They forced their way into the buildings for what exactly? Sure on the surface it looks like 1/6, but really it was even dumber.
