even though robocalls are pretty inexpensive, i still think they are one of the stupidest wastes of money that a campaign can do. a robocall is much more likely to annoy a potential voter than convince the voter of anything.
the only robocalls that could possibly work are ones that claim to be from the opponents campaign, and thus tar the other side as being responsible for the annoyance of the call. but that's illegal, federal law requires that each recording identify which campaign paid for the call and give a return telephone number. i don't think there's any way to legally put the technology to good use. campaigns would be better served to stop clogging up our voice mail systems with their stupid recordings.
