yesterday, i attended a CLE that included a panel discussion. one woman announced she would be the moderator and then said, "i promise to do a better job than jim lehrer." everyone laughed.
as i said before, i don't know if wednesday's debate is going to have a lasting effect on this presidential race. but one thing is clear, jim lehrer has become a punch line. i'm not sure if that's totally fair. i mean, i don't think he did a great job as a moderator. but i also think that some obama supporters are blaming the messenger for what was their own candidate's fault.
