Maybe one in ten sounds high to people who are enough of a political junky to read poll results from Pew in their free time, but the finding that only 10% of the population is completely disengaged from politics strikes me as remarkably low. My impression is that there are quite a lot of people out there who are just not interested.
I have a hard time believing it isn't significantly more than what Pew found. I wonder if respondents were likely to feign political interest because we all know we're supposed to follow politics, vote, be engaged with issues and shit. You know, civic duty and all.
