bush says the u.s is not a democracy (or, alternatively, that he can't remember what he did just 3 years ago)

with his usual unfaltering optimism, the president gave yet another series of statements about how swell the war in iraq is going. others are taking it apart as we speak, pointing out bush's admission that troops aren't coming home until he leaves office, and his use of a term that i usually take as a sign that the speaker doesn't know anything about the middle east.

but my favorite part is this:
And history has proven that democracies don't war.
i knew the guy was bad at history. but really, doesn't he even pay attention to his own decisions?
