As I mentioned before, it is really odd that President Trump has taken no moves against Russia after a federal grand jury issued an indictment accusing the Russian government of waging a campaign to disrupt American elections. Whether you believe the charges or not, I think it is inconceivable that any other president not do something with the Russian government when these indictments issued. Here is what I think any other president would have done:
1. Demanded that Russia turn over the individuals listed in the indictment.
2. Demand that Russia immediately shut down the Internet Research Agency.
3. Lodge an official diplomatic protest about Russia's actions in 2016 and demand they stop doing it now or else face serious consequences.
4. File an official complaint with the OSCE (both Russia and the U.S. are members)
5. Impose some kind of sanctions on Russia.
Here is what I think some presidents would have done:
1. Recall the American ambassador in protest and/or expel Russian diplomats.
2. Make a coded threat of military force against some Russian interest unless they stop interfering with elections, turn over the individuals listed in the indictment, and/or shut down the Internet Research Agency. (Citing official U.S. policy on cyberthreats)
3. Seek to have Russia expelled from the OSCE and/or other international organizations.
4. Wage a large-scale cyber-effort to undermine Putin and his allies in Russian social network sites.
That's all I can think of. What did I miss?
