maybe they were on to nothing

Now that we are here in shut down land, I don't see a way this will realistically resolve with any funding for the border wall. In about two weeks, the Democrats will officially take over the House, which greatly increases the Democrats' bargaining power. With a President who repeatedly took credit for the shutdown before it even happened, there is absolutely no reason for Democrats to make any big concessions before then.

So I guess my "I can see where the other side is coming from" post was short-sighted. But so was the other side. And that's why we are where we are now.
