Remember two months ago, when an American contractor was killed in a rocket attack in Iraq, the U.S. blamed an Iranian-backed militia and bombed five of its bases, which triggered anti-American protests that briefly penetrated the U.S. embassy complex in Baghdad, which triggered the President who ordered the assassination of the Iranian defense minister, which almost led to a war with Iran, caused anti-American sentiment to spike in Iraq (including the Iraqi government's demand that all U.S. forces leave Iraqi territory), and an Iranian missile strike against a U.S. base in Iraq that the President claimed didn't cause any damage but in fact led to the brain injury of over 60 U.S. soldiers?
Remember all that? Well, it looks like that initial attack that set the whole thing off might have been done by ISIS, not anyone backed by Iran. Oops.
